Trading Parameters

The Trading Parameters control when and how the strategy operates.

Start Time (Default: 18:00)

  • Function: Defines when the strategy begins looking for trading opportunities
  • How it works: The strategy will only look for entry signals after this time each day
  • Overnight Sessions: Automatically handles overnight trading when end time is before start time

End Time (Default: 16:00)

  • Function: Defines when the strategy stops looking for new entries
  • How it works: No new positions after this time, but existing positions continue to be managed
  • Note: Default settings (18:00-16:00) represent overnight futures trading

Max Daily Profit (Default: 99999)

  • Function: Maximum daily profit before disabling strategy
  • How it works:
    • Tracks realized profit/loss for each trading session
    • Stops taking new trades once this profit level is reached
    • Resets at the start of each new session
  • Default: Set high to effectively disable this limit

Max Daily Loss (Default: 99999)

  • Function: Maximum daily loss before disabling strategy
  • How it works:
    • Tracks realized losses for each trading session
    • Stops taking new trades once this loss level is reached
    • Resets at the start of each new session
  • Default: Set high to effectively disable this limit

Base Size (Default: 1)

  • Function: Starting position size for trades
  • How it works:
    • This is your base contract size
    • All martingale calculations start from this number
    • Used when dollar risk sizing is disabled

Martingale Type (Default: None)

  • Function: Controls position sizing after losing trades
  • Options:
    • None: Always trade base size
    • Standard: Double size after each loss
    • Linear: Add base size after each loss
    • Fibonacci: Use Fibonacci sequence for sizing
  • Reset: Position size resets to base after any winning trade

Use Dollar Risk Sizing (Default: false)

  • Function: Enable risk-based position sizing
  • How it works:
    • When enabled: Calculates contracts based on dollar risk
    • When disabled: Uses base size and martingale settings
  • Priority: Overrides martingale when enabled

Max Dollar Risk Per Trade (Default: 200)

  • Function: Maximum dollar amount to risk per trade
  • How it works:
    • Used when dollar risk sizing is enabled
    • Calculates position size based on stop distance
    • Acts as risk cap for all trades

Risk Management

Stop Loss Type (Default: PreviousBar)

  • Function: Method for calculating initial stop loss
  • Options:
    • PreviousBar: Uses previous bar's high/low
    • Fixed: Uses fixed tick amount
    • CurrentHighLow: Uses current bar's high/low
  • Application: Determines protective stop placement

Entry Methods

The Entry Methods control pattern recognition and timeframe analysis.

HTF 1-3 Minutes (Default: 30, 60, 60)

  • Function: Higher timeframe periods for analysis
  • How it works:
    • Analyzes these timeframes for #TheStrat continuity
    • All timeframes must align for entry signal
    • Set to 0 to disable a timeframe
  • Example: 30-min, 60-min, 60-min creates triple timeframe confirmation

Primary LTF Entries (Default: false)

  • Function: Require lower timeframe confirmation
  • How it works:
    • When true: Entry requires LTF signal matching HTF
    • When false: HTF signals alone can trigger entry
  • Purpose: Adds precision but may reduce opportunities

Include Momentum Hammers/Shooters (Default: true)

  • Function: Include hammer and shooter patterns
  • How it works:
    • Hammers: Bullish reversal patterns
    • Shooters: Bearish reversal patterns
    • Adds momentum-based entry signals

Exit Strategy

The Exit Strategy settings control position management and exits.

Cover Risk (Default: true)

  • Function: Take partial profits at 1:1 risk/reward
  • How it works:
    • Exits half position at break-even plus initial risk
    • Lets remainder run to full target
    • Helps ensure profitable trades

Take Profit Type (Default: Based on selection)

  • Function: Method for calculating profit targets
  • Options:
    • Fixed: Fixed tick amount from entry
    • Reward: Multiple of initial risk (R-based)
  • Impact: Determines exit strategy

R Multiplier (Default: Based on setting)

  • Function: Profit target as risk multiple
  • How it works:
    • Used when TP Type is "Reward"
    • Target = Entry + (Stop Distance × R Multiplier)
  • Range: 0.5 to 10.0

Fixed TP Amount (Default: 240 ticks)

  • Function: Fixed profit target in ticks
  • How it works:
    • Used when TP Type is "Fixed"
    • Target = Entry ± Fixed Amount
  • Note: Independent of stop loss distance

Fixed SL Amount (Default: 200 ticks)

  • Function: Fixed stop loss in ticks
  • How it works:
    • Used when Stop Loss Type is "Fixed"
    • Stop = Entry ± Fixed Amount
  • Purpose: Consistent risk regardless of market structure

Exit on First Reversal (Default: false)

  • Function: Exit on primary timeframe reversal
  • How it works:
    • When enabled: Exits immediately on pattern reversal
    • Protects profits but may exit early
  • Use Case: Conservative profit protection

Enable Break-Even (Default: true)

  • Function: Move stop to break-even after profit
  • How it works:
    • Monitors position for break-even trigger
    • Moves stop to entry plus offset
    • Protects against losses

Break-Even Offset (Default: 0 ticks)

  • Function: Ticks beyond entry for break-even
  • How it works:
    • 0 = Move stop to exact entry price
    • Positive value = Guaranteed profit at break-even
  • Trigger: Activated when price reaches entry + initial risk
